Healthcare providers can have video or phone meetings with others (specialists, clinicians, patients, patient's family members or caregivers).
- Invited participants DO NOT require a SK Virtual Visit account; however, may create one if they wish.
- These have no connection to patient information or history, past consultations, consultation notes, or patient records.
- These are meetings, and NOT virtual patient consultations, which are connected to patient records.
- A short note can be added by the meeting host for future reference after the meeting completes.
- Meeting info, such as type (video/phone), participants, date and a short note (if added) are stored under 'Meet Now' > 'Past Meetings' for future reference. There, a 'Search' feature is available with criteria such as participant name, date range, care team member, and meeting type.
VIDEO MEETING FEATURES:
- Meetings can be immediate or scheduled.
- Participants are invited with a unique meeting quick link, ID and Passcode.
- Participants may forward the meeting 'Join-In Information' to others; however, the meeting host has the option to Admin/Decline their entry.
- Multiple participants can be invited and join in.
- Participants may be added by video while the meeting is in progress.
- Participants may be added by phone while the meeting is in progress.
- Participants may be added via a Telehealth address while the meeting is in progress - currently in development
- Participants may 'Chat' while in the video - visible to all participants.
- Participants may upload photos or documents - available under 'Chat'.
- If the meeting host exits the meeting by selecting 'End Call For All', a new meeting will have to be started with new 'Join-In info', which will have to again be emailed to the invited participant(s). There is an additional confirmation button to prevent this from happening in error.
-
Any participant, including the host, may 'Leave Call' and return to the video meeting without it ending. There is a short window that the meeting remains open, allowing participants time to re-enter. The meeting quick link, ID and passcode are still valid during this time.
-
If participant(s) drop from the video meeting inadvertently, they have a short time to rejoin (approx. 20 mins.), as long as the meeting host has not selected 'End Call For All'.
-
Host or participants who are a member of the virtual clinic - re-enter from the 'Consultations' tab.
-
Invited participants who are not a member of the virtual clinic - re-enter using the same quick link in the email they received, using the same Meeting ID and Passcode. They must be re-admitted into the video meeting.
-
- The host can mute any or all participants.
- The host can remove a participant at any time. That participant will then not be able to rejoin the meeting.
PHONE MEETING FEATURES:
- Phone meetings are between two participants only.
- The phone call is made directly from the SK Virtual Visit platform.
- Although initiated in the platform, an actual phone line is used, not voice-over internet protocol (VoIP) - helpful for those whose internet has low bandwidth or those who have trouble initiating a video call.
- The meeting host's phone number remains hidden to the person being called.
- The system will call the host first; after they pick up, it will call the other participant.
