Healthcare providers can see their patients virtually in scheduled consultations, which work much like their in-person consultations and differ from 'Meet Now' meetings.
- Patients must be invited by the clinic to join the clinic as a virtual patient.
- Patients must create a 'SK Virtual Visit' account and access their appointments after logging into their account.
- Patient consultations include patient information and history, past consultations, and consultation notes (if entered). Their information is saved within the system.
- Patients may invite up to two family members, caregivers or others to their virtual appointment. The invitation is sent by email and will include the appointment date and time, the unique meeting ID and passcode. Note: invitees must create a SK Virtual Visit account to join the consultation when invited by the patient.
- Healthcare providers may invite multiple guests (specialists, clinicians, patient family members or caregivers) to their patient's virtual consultation as well. The invitation is sent by email and will include the appointment date and time, the unique meeting ID and passcode. Note: an SK Virtual Visit account is NOT required to join a consultation when participants are invited by the healthcare provider.
- Patient virtual consultations will include a video call or, in certain situations, can include a phone call.
- Participants may 'Chat' - visible to all participants.
- Participants may upload photos or documents.
- Patient consultations are stored under 'Consultations > Search for Consultations' for future reference. There, a 'Search' feature is available with criteria such as 'Consult ID, Patient Name, Province, Consultation Status, Care Team Members and Date Range'.
