Healthcare providers can have video or phone meetings with others (specialists, clinicians, patients, patient's family members or caregivers).
- Patients/participants joining these meetings DO NOT require a 'SK Virtual Visit' account.
- They do not need to be invited to join a clinic as a virtual patient.
- These have no connection to patient information or history, past consultations, consultation notes, or patient records.
- A short note can be added by the meeting host after the meeting completes.
- Past meeting (video or phone) information is stored under 'Meet Now' > 'Past Meetings'.
This article covers the features of:
VIDEO MEETING FEATURES:
- Meetings can be on demand (immediate) or scheduled.
- Participants are invited with a unique meeting URL link, ID and Passcode.
- Participants may forward the meeting information to others; however, the meeting host has the option to Admin/Decline participants entry.
- Multiple participants can be invited and join.
- Participants may be added by video while the meeting is in progress with access to video and audio.
- Participants may be added by phone while the meeting is in progress with access to audio only.
- Participants may be added via a Telehealth address while the meeting is in progress - currently in development
- Participants may 'Chat' while in the video - visible to all participants.
- Participants may upload photos or documents - available under 'Chat'.
- The host can mute any or all participants.
- The host can remove participants at any time. That participant will then not be able to rejoin the meeting.
- If the meeting host selects 'End Call For All', the meeting will be closed and no one will be able to re-enter. The link, meeting ID and passcode will no longer work.
- Any participant, including the host, may 'Leave Call' and return to the video meeting without it ending. There is a short window that the meeting remains open, allowing participants time to re-enter. The meeting quick link, ID and passcode are still valid during this time.
-
If participant(s) drop from the video meeting inadvertently, they have a short time to rejoin (approx. 20 mins.), as long as the meeting is still active. To re-enter an active meeting:
- The host and participants from the same clinic - re-enter under 'Meet Now' > 'Your Meetings in Progress' or from the 'Consultations' tab.
- Participants who were sent the meeting link - re-enter using the same link in the email they received, using the same Meeting ID and Passcode. They must be re-admitted into the video meeting.
- Scheduled meetings may extend past the scheduled length of time. For example, if scheduled for 15 minutes, may extend past 15 minutes to whatever time is necessary.
PHONE MEETING FEATURES:
- Phone meetings are limited to two participants.
- The phone call is made directly from the SK Virtual Visit platform.
- Although initiated in the platform, an actual phone line is used, not voice-over internet protocol (VoIP) - helpful for those whose internet has low bandwidth or those who have trouble initiating a video call.
- The meeting host's phone number remains hidden to the person being called.
- The system will call you first. After you answer, it will automatically call your patient/participant.
