There may be times when you need to present a slideshow/document to your patient/ participant(s) and, at the same time, see them on video. This is especially important when participants are arriving and you need to see the notication pop-up to 'Allow' them into the video call.
Microsoft PowerPoint does not give you the option to shrink or split your screen while in "Presenter View", however, these simple steps below make it possible:

1. Set up Your Presentation/Document
Step 1: First, open all presentations/documents you want to share during your video call onto your workstation.
- Ensure the presentation(s) you are wanting to share are visible
- Be sure they are not in "full-screen mode".
Step 2: In a PowerPoint, click on "View" in the toolbar, then on "Reading View" in the menu that appears below.
You should now be able to see your slideshow in "Presenter View", but also have the ability to change the size of its window. This will allow you to shrink or split your screens to accommodate your viewing requirements.
2. Split Computer Screen for Screen Sharing - on Windows Desktop/Laptop
Step 1: After setting up your presentation(s)/documents, start your video meeting.
Step 2: Click "Share Screen", which is located at the bottom of your video call screen.
Step 3: Refer to the table below which shows the features for each Windows web browser, and select the share option that best suits you.

Step 4: There are a couple of ways to now split your screen:
- One at a time, drag and drop your windows (your video call & shared document/ presentation) to one side of the screen. Let go and it will resize itself to fit half the monitor. Repeat for the other window; OR
- Click the "minimize" icon (box) beside the "X" in the top-right of each window. The window will shrink.

Press and hold . Press the "left or right arrow" key. If you press the "left arrow" key, the active program window shows on the left side of your screen. If you press the "right arrow" key, it shows on the right side of your screen.
You may resize each of them by grabbing each side of the window and moving to your desired size.
You should have the two windows side-by-side displayed on your monitor (one half will show the video call (with the shared presentation) and the other half will show your presentation/document, as seen in the image below.
To exit "split-screen" mode, maximize one of the program windows by clicking the "maximize icon" (box) in the top-right corner of each window.
3. Split Computer Screen for Screen Sharing - on Apple Mac Desktop/Laptop
Step 1: After setting up your PowerPoint presentation and starting your meeting, click on "Share Screen", which is located at the bottom of your video call screen.
Step 2: Click on "Window" or , and then select the window showing the document/presentation that you wish to share. When you are ready to continue, click "Share".
Note: If the screen that you are wanting to share has audio, you will NOT be able to use this option and will have to open it in your web browser, and select it from the "Chrome Tab" option.
Step 3: Move the pointer to the green button in the top-left corner of the window, then choose "Tile Window to Left of Screen" or "Tile Window to Right of Screen" from the menu that appears.
Step 4: On the other side of the screen, click the second app you want to work with.
Now, you have your video call and your PowerPoint presentation in split-screen view on your computer.
Note: If you need to make one side bigger, move the pointer over the separator bar located in the middle of the screen, then drag it to the left or the right.How to Change View Size During a Share Screen Session
If at any point you wish to stop the presentation and see your patient/participant in a larger view, simply click on "Enter Gallery View" in the lower right hand corner of the main video screen. If necessary, instruct your patient/participant to click on "Enter Gallery View" as well, so their screen looks the same as yours.
