SAFARI Browser - Blocked Camera & Microphone Permissions

** IMPORTANT **

  • Audio and video must be permitted for use within these sessions AND for the browser you are using
  • ALWAYS Allow/Enable your camera and microphone WHENEVER PROMPTED

 

This article covers camera & microphone permissions for the following:

 

"OH NO - I HAVE BLOCKED MY CAMERA & MICROPHONE"

If you have blocked or denied your camera/microphone when joining a video meeting on the WEB, you will receive the following error screen.

  • Click 'Try Again'.

  • You will be prompted for camera/microphone permissions.  Click 'Allow'.  Note: If 'Never for This Website' is accidentally selected, see instructions below.*

  • You will be directed to the 'Join a Meeting' screen.  If the microphone and camera are blocked on the video screen, turn them both 'ON'.
  • Enter your name, click 'Join', then wait in the virtual waiting room for the meeting host to allow you in.  Note: as it's a medical appointment, there could be delays on this screen.

 

 * If 'Never for This Website' is accidentally selected, you will see the following 'Camera / Microphone' error screen:

  • Right-click in the address bar, then select 'Settings for virtualvisit.saskatchewan.ca'.
  • Change the 'Camera' and 'Microphone' settings to 'Allow'.

  • If the error screen reappears, click 'Reload Page'.

  • You will be directed to the 'Join a Meeting' screen.  If the microphone and camera are blocked on the video screen, turn them both 'ON'.
  • Enter your name, click 'Join', then wait in the virtual waiting room for the meeting host to allow you in.  Note: as it's a medical appointment, there could be delays on this screen.

 

SITE SETTINGS FOR SAFARI BROWSER

  • Click on 'Websites', then find both 'Camera' and 'Microphone' along the left of your screen.

 

  • Change the access for 'virtualvisit.saskatchan.ca' to 'Allow'.

  • Restart Safari

 

ALLOWING YOUR CAMERA AND MICROPHONE BEFORE JOINING A VIDEO MEETING

When you proceed to join a video session, if not already done, you should get prompted by your browser for camera and microphone permissions.

  • Always choose 'Allow' for both the Camera and Microphone.

The 'Join a Meeting' screen:

  • You may change your camera or microphone (optional).
  • You may 'Test Your Connection' (optional).
  • You may enable/disable the microphone & camera for when the video call starts.  Note: if a user is currently on the phone that is being used to join the video meeting, our platform will automatically disable the video call audio, to allow audio to continue on the phone call.
  • Enter your name to identify yourself to the meeting host.
  • When ready, click 'Join', then wait in the virtual waiting room for the meeting host to allow you in.  Note: as it's a medical appointment, there could be delays on this screen.
