Once you have completed your patient consultation, it should be 'Archived'.
(It is recommended that you continue to use your clinic's EMR for all chart notes, forms and follow-up patient care, however notes may be added within the patient consultation, if desired.)
If Completed Consultations Have Not Been Archived -
For Patients - unarchived consultations remain under the 'In Progress' section, which will be confusing to patients. Properly archived consultations should appear under the 'Completed' section.
Example of Patient View:
On the APP:
On the Web:
For Clinical Users - unarchived consultations will remain under the 'Active' section on the 'Active and Pending' screen. After 3 hours, properly archived consultations will move to the 'Completed' section - see note below *.
Example of Active and Pending Screen:
Step 1 - Above 'Patient Information' on the consultation screen, click on the drop-down menu labelled 'Active'.
- Pending Imaging
- Pending Labs
- Referred to Specialist
- Pending Other
- Cancel Consultation
- Archive Consultation
Step 2 - Click 'Archive Consultation'.
Step 3 - Confirm 'Yes, archive consultation'.
The consultation will remain in the 'Active and Pending' section for approximately 3 hours. This allows time for further action, if any is required.
After the 3-hour wait period, the consultation will be closed and can be searched for in the 'Search for Consultations' section under the 'Consultations' tab.
Note: The status of a consultation may also be changed within the 'Active and Pending' room, if required, by either the healthcare provider or their support staff.
