Shared email addresses will not be accepted by the system as email addresses are unique account log-in identifiers.
As well, for privacy, security and protection of each user’s health information and health history:
- Log-in information should not be shared with anyone
- Each user should create and access their own account with their own distinct Login information
- Note: Youth 14 years of age or older are entitled to advocate for their own healthcare and must provide consent for a parent/guardian to intervene on their behalf. See article: How Can My Child or Dependent Use SK Virtual Visit?
In a situation where a couple share an email address, they may receive two emails to that shared email address inviting them to create a 'SK Virtual Visit' account and join the virtual clinic. Only one of them may use that email address to create their account.
If the second user tries to create their account with an email address that has already been taken, they will receive the error message, 'This email has already been taken'.
Note: some email providers allow users to add an extension to an existing email address. For example, janedoe@emailXcom could be extended to janedoe+dad@emailX.com (this is an example only) and used to create the second 'SK Virtual Visit' account. Emails to this 'extended' email address will still appear in the Inbox of the 'original' email address. Check with your email provider.
