Patients may upload photos, documents and videos while in their virtual appointment, for their healthcare provider to review.
| Do not upload images of health issues from 'sensitive or private' areas on your body unless your healthcare provider first requests you to do so. |
Files are uploaded into the 'Chat' window in both:
- Virtual Meetings
- Patient Consultations
1. Virtual Meetings - On the Web
When you first enter a video meeting, you will immediately arrive in the video.
Step 1 - Click the green 'Chat' button. The Chat screen will appear.
Step 2 - Select the camera/document icon located beneath the 'Message' box.
Step 2 - Note the supported file formats listed. Choose one of the 3 available options:
- Drag and Drop from a saved location on your device
- Choose a saved file from your device
- Take a webcam photo
Your photo, document or video will upload into the 'Chat' window.
Note: when using a laptop/desktop, you may unsend a photo, video or document by hovering your mouse over the file and clicking 'Unsend Message', enter a reason and confirm.
1. Virtual Meetings - On a Mobile Device
When you first enter a video meeting, you will immediately arrive in the video.
Step 1: Tap the '3 dots' found in the upper-right corner of the screen, then select 'View Text Chat'.
Step 2 - Select one of the icons located beneath the 'Message' box.
Step 2 - Choose an action to attach a photo, video or document.
Your file will upload into the 'Chat' window.
You may tap on the file to view it larger.
Note: A feature to 'unsend' a photo, video or document file on mobile is currently under development.
2. Patient Consultations - On the Web
When you first enter a patient consultation, you will arrive in the 'Chat' message area. The video will not begin until your provider initiates it.
Step 1 - Select the camera/document icon located beneath the 'Message' box (lower-left corner of screen).
Step 2 - Note the supported file formats listed. Choose one of the 3 available options:
- Drag and Drop from a saved location on your device
- Choose a saved file from your device
- Take a webcam photo
Your photo, document or video will upload into the 'Chat' window.
